In continuing my topic of the law of attraction (see Law of Attraction: Fact or Myth) the human mind is unlimited in its power to create the outcomes you desire, yet many don’t realize how much power they actually have. By understanding the basics of this power, you can start to create a tremendous life of health, wealth and happiness. It is more than possible to create such a life without the struggles and sacrifices we have come to believe as true. By believing that life has to be hard or more money has to come by working more hours, you limit your potential. Within your mind you have the power to change your thinking and thereby change your beliefs.
While many people are aware of the power of the human mind, it is said that most people only use about 10% of their brains capacity. Just imagine if we were to use the whole 100%. What a life you could create for yourself. The good thing is you can increase the power of your mind and/or put that 10% to better use by becoming aware that your mind is the power behind the reality you are in.
The only thing that separates you from the rich is the lack of belief that you can be rich. The only thing that separates you from the “smarter” people is the lack of belief that you can be as intelligent. The only thing that separates you from being healthy is the lack of belief that you can be as healthy as you desire.
Do you see the common theme here? You, and only you, are limiting yourself from having what you want. Regardless of what your current situation may be, you're limiting yourself by what you think which becomes your truth, your reality.
The Conscious Mind:
The conscious mind is one part of the mind that controls our physical and spiritual being. The other part being the subconscious mind which we’ll discuss next. The conscious mind is the part that interprets the information we receive from our senses (smell, touch, taste, etc.) with the help of the brain.
Unlike the subconscious mind, the conscious mind has the ability to form beliefs based on our perception of events or situations. It is these beliefs that we form through the conscious mind that get passed down to the memory banks of subconscious mind.
So where does this lead us? To a point where your job is to use your conscious mind as a tool to change your reality or what you perceive as your reality. In other words, change what you perceive to be true with your conscious mind and your subconscious mind will make it a reality. The subconscious mind only follows orders. It does not know truth from fiction.
How does this relate to the law of attraction? Let’s use the lack of money as an example. If you are always worried about your bills and not having enough money to pay them, your conscious mind is processing that information as truth and it’s getting passed down to your subconscious mind.
Once it’s in your subconscious mind, it takes it as truth and works to create your reality based on that perceived truth. What you need to remember is that your subconscious mind has no ability to determine what is true or not. That’s the job of your conscious mind. So if you change your beliefs with your conscious mind you’ll change what your subconscious thinks is true.
When you are able to purposely monitor and change your thoughts, you’ll be laying the groundwork for your mind to believe what you tell it to believe. Which in turn becomes your reality based on the laws we’ve already discussed.
That is why it’s so important to monitor and be aware of the thoughts “floating” around in your head. If you think about, and focus on, lack of money, you start to believe that as being the truth and that perceived truth gets sent to your subconscious to become fact.
You’re probably thinking that the truth is that you have a lack of money. It’s ok to acknowledge the fact that there is a lack of money at the moment and even accept that fact as to not force resistance, but that is different than making a lack of money the truth to your future.
There is more than enough for all of us. So you don’t have a lack of money. You perceive you do and are making that your reality. You can change that by changing how you “see” the situation. Are you able to eat, able to pay your bills, have a job, etc.? Then you don’t have a lack of money. You just don’t have as much as you would like… yet!
Same thing can be said for health issues. Do you suffer from anxiety, stress, or depression? The conscious mind will attach emotions to these disorders, store it in the subconscious and will create more of the same do to the law of vibration, abundance, attraction, etc.
By changing your focus to that of what you desire, you start to create new “truths” in your conscious mind which become realities in your subconscious mind. This in turn sends out vibrations (energy) to the universe and guess what you get back? More of the same positive energy.
What is the difference between you believing you can make $100 per day vs. $1,000 per day? It’s just a number, but you attach a certain emotion, vibration to the perceived belief of whether you can make $1,000 a day or not. If you can make $100, why not $1,000? Ask yourself that question and write down the answer so you can see the beliefs you’ve created that are limiting you.
Your belief system is the only factor stopping you from making more money, having better health, and better relationships. Learn to use you conscious mind to truly see things for what they are. Not for what you created them to be.
Remember that the beliefs that are sent to the subconscious mind by what your conscious mind believes is true, are creating a vibration that is sent out to the universe and will, without fail, attract like vibrations that create your reality.
It is best to start with small steps as your conscious mind is not stupid. Your subconscious mind on the other hand will believe exactly what your conscious mind tells it is true. So if you can’t believe that you can make $1,000 per day, then start with smaller believable steps such as $100 a day, then $500 and so on.
Take control of your conscious mind and be aware of what you’re allowing yourself to believe. Try to absorb only the information which will create the reality you desire. You will learn how to do that when we cover the power principles, but for now understand that you need to change what you perceive to be true because I can guarantee that what you perceive to be true is not accurate.
The Subconscious Mind:
Let’s start off by taking a look at how the subconscious mind functions and how and why it can affect your reality. Unlike the conscious mind that interprets what you see, hear, feel, smell, etc., the subconscious mind handles many other things such as breathing, heart beat, and storage of information passed on by the conscious mind.
The subconscious mind is always active. It never sleeps. Besides taking care of your automatic bodily functions, it’s constantly absorbing data sent from the conscious mind. It doesn’t know right from wrong, truths from untruths, left from right and so on. See where I’m heading with this?
If you’re subconscious mind doesn’t know truths from untruths, what is stopping it from believing you are a rich, healthy, happy person? That’s right, your conscious mind. The subconscious mind sends out vibrations based on what is stored in it’s “memory banks” and returns similar vibrations.
Whether these vibrations are of poverty or prosperity, sickness or health, happiness or despair, is really up to you and what you feed your conscious mind. The great news is you can control what you feed your conscious mind. You decide what you believe to be true or not.
Even better news is that you can replace the information that is stored in your subconscious mind with new information that is more in line with what you desire. Just because something is ingrained in your subconscious, doesn’t mean it can’t be overwritten. Thank goodness for that.
By being aware of what your thinking, what your saying to yourself in that inner dialogue we all do with ourselves everyday, you can decide what you allow into your subconscious mind. With practice you can easily change negative thoughts to positive ones. It will take practice because as a society we’re conditioned to be quite negative. Just listen to people around you and you’ll quickly see what I mean.
If your thoughts, emotions, words, and beliefs are in line with what you want, your subconscious mind has no choice but to believe that is the truth and that is your reality (your life). So I hope you are starting to see how you can re-shape your life to be whatever you like it to be by using your mind as the greatest tool.
If you believe me, that will become your reality. If you choose not to, that will also become your reality. I don't know about you, but I rather believe I have complete control over my life and how it unfolds.
