Amish View Inn: Lancaster, PA
If you've been wanting to visit Lancaster, PA for the outlets, tourist attractions or just to stare at the Amish, I highly recommend you stay at the Amish View Inn located in the heart of Dutch Country. Easily one of our favorite areas to visit for the great shopping, food, and family atmosphere, I was pleasantly surprised at how upscale the Amish View Inn was. We've stayed at many places during our last 15 years visiting Lancaster, but the Amish View Inn has become my new favorite place for lodging. Surrounded by Amish farms, Amish View Inn provides the intimate atmosphere of a bed & breakfast with the amenities of an upscale hotel. I did feel like I was staying at a bed and breakfast but at much cheaper hotel prices. On their website they state "elegant accommodations - postcard settings" and they are correct. When we got to our room and I drew back the curtains I was facing a huge Amish farm, complete with Amish farmer working his fields. Wonder if the hotel pays him to do that for the tourists :) Rooms are very comfortable and yuo have a choice of deluxe queen, deluxe king, studio suites and 1 or 2 bedroom suites. Rooms, whole hotel for that matter, was very clean. Breakfast is included each morning and I'm not talking just a continental breakfast with some bagels and coffee. I had eggs, bacon, muffins, juice, etc. I definitely got my nightly rates worth in breakfast alone. The hotel has a nice indoor heated pool, whirlpool, fitness center and arcade. We had lots of fun just hanging around the hotel. You can read more in the link I provided for the hotel but I do recommend the area and specifically that hotel. I've stayed in many places over the years visiting Lancaster and I don't usually praise many, if at all, the way I was impressed with the Amish View Inn. By the way, if you visit Lancaster and have little one, I highly recommend going to Dutch Wonderland which is right nearby. The best way I could describe it is like being a mini Magic Kingdom. Very mini, but very nice none the less. Very clean and it's princess theme will have your princess smiling all day. |
